Born in North Lincolnshire, my love of nature and a passion for drawing set me on a creative path. Nature has been a huge part of my family life from the time I was young. Feeding my Grandad's chickens, helping my dad in the garden, watching wildlife video's with my mum or spending time on the local farm. Having experimented with different media while studying Art and Design at college and university I have since developed a love of graphite, coloured pencil and more recently charcoal. Working with pencils lets me dive into a high level of detail which forces me to slow down and truly notice nature rather than rushing past it. I use realism to invite you to do the same. A detailed drawing can feel less like an art piece and more like a real life encounter. I am constantly inspired by nature and driven by a desire to capture the spirit and personality of my subject bringing them to life on paper.
